Memory can be a fickle thing!
Take five people and put them all through an experience together. Each will have their account of what occurred. As some details flow, each will have their perspective of what actually happened. The emotions felt. The atmosphere. Reading the room. It's all in perception and perspective. When you're able to understand that your view is not the only one, not the only truth, but also not necessarily perfectly correct or wrong in any way. It's taking it for face value as well as that of others involved.
Where one may feel joy, the other may feel betrayed, cheated, and destroyed!
If there's anything I've learned, it's never to disregard the feelings, emotions, and views of others and yet still understand your own. It's never forgetting who you are and never missing who they are.
